Electric heaters

Electric heaters use electric current to heat up after passing through a resistor, converting electrical energy into heat energy, and use a certain heat exchange method to achieve the purpose of heating people through convection, radiation, etc. At present, there are a wide variety of household electric heaters on the market, so what should we pay attention to when purchasing? How can we choose the one that suits us? There are mainly the following types of household electric heaters on the market:

1. Halogen tube heater

Halogen tube is a sealed luminous heating tube. It uses halogen lamp as the heating part to replace the traditional heating tube wound with electric heating wire. Halogen lamp tube is a vacuum lamp tube filled with halogen gas, thereby reducing the oxidation of the filament and increasing the service life of the lamp tube.

The lamp tube glass also uses infrared quartz tube to improve the radiation of infrared light, so it also has the advantages of fast heating, good emission orientation, high thermal efficiency, etc., and some models are equipped with automatic rotation, timing, and humidification functions. Because it relies on light and heat, it is not suitable for use in the bedroom.

2. Electric oil heater

The heat sink of this heater is stamped into a long groove shape with thin steel plate. It is riveted into a heat sink by two pieces. Each piece is connected to each other and filled with a specially treated heat-conducting medium. A set of electric heating pipes are installed at the upper and lower connecting points. The heat-conducting oil is heated by the electric heating pipes and diffuses heat to the space through the large-area heat sink to achieve the purpose of heating. This heat-conducting oil has a high flash point temperature, good fluidity, is not easy to age, and does not need to be added regularly.

The electric oil heater is equipped with a temperature controller, which can be set according to the user’s requirements to obtain a satisfactory room temperature.

This product is suitable for use in bedrooms, living rooms, offices and other places. When purchasing, you can choose 9-piece, 11-piece, and 13-piece products according to the room area and insulation conditions. The main disadvantage is that the thermal inertia is large and the heating and cooling time is long.

3. PTC heater

The PTC heating element is different from the traditional heating wire heating. It is a thermistor with a positive temperature coefficient. When the ambient temperature is low, the heating power will automatically decrease, thus maintaining the appropriate temperature power. When working, the heat of the PTC element is blown out by the machine wind. Its heat transfer method is forced convection. The PTC heating element does not emit light when working, and there is no light consumption. Therefore, the thermal efficiency is as high as more than 90%, and it has good safety performance and long service life. Since it does not emit light when working, it is suitable for use in bedrooms or living rooms.

4. Yuba heater

Yuba is a new product introduced from abroad in my country in recent years. It is a strong variety added in small household appliances in recent years. It quickly became popular in the market. It can be said that almost no one does not use Yuba in bathroom decoration now. Its heating principle is to obtain heat through infrared quartz radiation lamps and light warm radiation. It has a large heating area, rapid heating, good effect, no preheating, and can instantly heat up to more than 25℃, making the shower person feel like bathing in the sun.

Common bathroom heaters have two or four bulbs for heating. When powered on, the infrared radiation light and heat generated by the bulbs not only heat the body, but also promote blood circulation. The bathroom heater is installed on the top of the bathroom and does not occupy the use space. The bathroom heater can effectively eliminate the odor and moisture in the bathroom and keep the air fresh.

Purchase points

When purchasing home heating appliances, it is safe to choose products that have passed the national mandatory certification (i.e. with the 3C mark). After determining the style, it should be checked from three aspects:

1. Appearance inspection:

The outer shell of the electric heater should be flat and smooth, the paint surface should be bright, without shedding, wrinkling, etc., the electroplating surface should not have rust spots, bubbles, etc., and there should be no cracks, shrinkage and other defects for plastic components. The heating element quartz tube of far-infrared heaters should not have cracks.

2. Electrical performance inspection:

The control switches of each gear of the electric heater should be flexible and reliable, the timer should be in good timing, turn on the power, check whether the indicator light is on, and listen to whether the noise of the fan motor is loud and whether there is any abnormal sound in the rotating body.

3. Temperature test:

After the electric heater is powered on for a few minutes, there should be obvious heat sensation near the heater. The heating parts of the far-infrared heater are dark red (or glowing) and the entire heating body is red and shiny evenly. There is hot air blowing out of the air outlet of the PTC heater. The thermal inertia of the electric oil heater is large and the temperature rises slowly. After 20 to 30 minutes of power on, the casing of the electric heater feels slightly hot.
